On May 6 , local time in Indonesia , Kingenta Group signed a strategic partnership framework agreement with AgriAKU , a well-known agricultural technology platform enterprise in Indonesia and one of the largest agricultural material distribution companies in the country, marking the official launch of Kingenta Group's global promotion of slow-release fertilizers in Southeast Asia. This is another major international move after Kingenta Group unveiled its European slow-release fertilizer model factory in the Netherlands on April 3 and started its European layout. Wan Peng, President of Kingenta Group, and Aldrian Irvan Kolonas, CEO of AgriAKU Indonesia , attended the signing ceremony.
Kingenta Group chose Indonesia as the first stop and springboard for exporting slow-release fertilizer technology, products and services to Southeast Asia for deep strategic considerations. Indonesia is the largest economy in Southeast Asia and a major agricultural producer with 700 million mu of cultivated land. As the world's fourth most populous country, Indonesia has not only failed to achieve food self-sufficiency, but also faces challenges brought by ecological degradation and climate change.
"Indonesia's overall crop yields are low and fertilizer utilization rates are low. Kingenta Group's slow-release fertilizers and high-efficiency fertilizer technologies can better solve these problems. As a bridgehead in Southeast Asia, by deploying here, we can quickly radiate the entire Southeast Asian fertilizer market." Wan Peng, President of Kingenta, said that in recent years, as the local government has made every effort to promote comprehensive food self-sufficiency and agricultural ecological protection, local farmers' demand for new fertilizers including slow-release fertilizers has become increasingly prominent. At the critical juncture of Indonesia's move towards agricultural modernization, the arrival of Kingenta Group is timely.
AgriAKU is a well-known agricultural technology platform company in Indonesia and one of the largest agricultural material distributors and service providers in the country. Through the combination of digital tools and online and offline channels, it has cooperated with about 23,000 agricultural material terminal retailers to establish an agricultural material service network covering the whole of Indonesia. "What we value most is Kingenta's technological capabilities in the field of fertilizers. Kingenta has very good technology and products, and we have a very good network. The two sides can integrate resources and grow together." Aldrian Irvan Kolonas, CEO of AgriAKU , introduced that the next step is for the two sides to quickly launch product verification demonstrations in Indonesia and start a comprehensive layout of slow-release fertilizers and high-efficiency fertilizers.
Kingenta Group is the world's largest slow-release fertilizer manufacturer and the international standard setter for slow-release fertilizers. It has 158 slow-release fertilizer invention patents . It was the first in the world to successfully promote slow-release fertilizers, which Europe and the United States call "noble fertilizers", to large fields. It was the first in China to achieve industrialization and large-scale application, and won three national science and technology awards. Starting this year, Kingenta Group launched a global promotion campaign for slow-release fertilizers, set up demonstration fields in countries and regions along the "Belt and Road", built model factories, and jointly built a global slow-release fertilizer technology promotion alliance, sharing slow-release fertilizer technology with the world, and contributing the "Kingenta Plan" to global food security and sustainable agricultural development.
According to the agreement, Kingenta Group will join hands with AgriAKU to build the first batch of 200 demonstration fields in Indonesia , covering crops such as oil palm, rice, corn, rubber, tomatoes, cabbage, peppers, etc. At the same time, Kingenta Group will develop crop nutrition solutions for partners according to local conditions, jointly build an agricultural service system, and provide farmers with integrated support of "technology + service + training".
Demonstration field construction is an important part of promoting slow-release fertilizers. It creates a model and guides farmers around the world to rely on science and technology to cope with agricultural challenges. "Indonesia mainly uses single-element fertilizers for crop fertilization, which has low fertilizer utilization rate and a very high multiple cropping index. Not only does it increase the labor intensity of farmers, but it also leads to repeated cropping problems and frequent pests and diseases. By introducing Kingenta Group's slow-release fertilizers and fertilizer efficiency enhancement technology, it can not only improve the soil and help crops increase production and efficiency, but also reduce manpower input and improve fertilizer utilization, which will truly help Indonesia's agriculture develop better." said Li Xinzhu, deputy director of the National Slow-Release Fertilizer Engineering Technology Research Center and director of Kingenta Group Research Institute.
Compared with China's mature and developed fertilizer market, Indonesia not only needs to import fertilizers every year to make up for the gap, but also lags behind in fertilizer varieties and usage methods. When hearing that Kingenta Group will promote slow-release fertilizers and high-efficiency fertilizers to Indonesia, Toto, an agricultural supply retailer in Lembang Township, Bandung City , was very excited: "Many crops here need to be fertilized as many as six times in a growth cycle, which is very hard. If the number of fertilizations can be reduced and the yield can be guaranteed, that would be great! Farmers will welcome it very much!"
